Our partnership with the City of Clearfield began in late 2023. What originally began as a rehabilitation project quickly turned into an expansion of their existing park built in the early 2000s.

The existing park featured primarily bowls and they were looking for something new and exciting for all ages and abilities to ride. Through meetings and onsite assessments, we set out to create new accessible features around the perimeter of the existing skate park. After the approval of the designs and engineering, we partnered with Life Is Good for excavation and on-site concrete for the project.

Design

We couldn’t be more excited that the design of this project allows more access to riders of all abilities to enjoy the park. We’re also excited about the 3’ miniramp sharing a deck with the 4’ miniramp with a spine. It’s a ramp setup that isn’t found anywhere else in the state and will likely be an anchor feature for skaters, bikers and others. The street course design is special as well, it’s long enough to allow skaters to hit 3 features in a row without changing direction. We could go on and on. We also listened as community members provided feedback. Our original design necessitated the removal of a popular fly out box feature due to safety concerns. We met with riders who objected the idea to hear their concerns. After listening, we adjusted the design to accommodate the new park and the preservation of the old box.

Build

We collaborated with the City of Clearfield and our excavation and concrete partner, Life Is Good, throughout the whole design and build process to ensure as few delays as possible.

The construction for the expansion’s features was completed in just under four months. Allowing for a prompt delivery and the beginning of the install in last summer of 2024.

Skate

Previous to this project, the skate park was less accessible and therefore less busy than other parks within a 30 minute drive. The expansion of the park allows for riders of all ages and abilities the chance to enjoy. This project is close to our hearts because it delivers on our Omega Ramps mission, to give more riding access to more kids. We love it.
