This project was originally planned as a skate "dot" consisting of a mini ramp and a couple of street features on a flat slab. When the design began to take shape, Joe Nielson, a landscape architect and project manager for the City of St. George, walked the site and suggested we go "bigger" to better serve the youth in the area. Parks director Shane Moore agreed and we wend to work. After several iterations, we arrived at the current design. A unique feature of the design is that it is designed around the natural contour of the site. All parties are very excited about the project.

Along the way, we also reviewed the design with members of the local police department, who not only approved of the project but also proactively advocated for the larger park to benefit of local middle and high school students.
