The customer visited one of the Hawaii miniramps in 2021 and expressed interest in a miniramp if we ever move operations to the mainland. After moving to the mainland from Hawaii  we connected and I was able to do a site visit at their house in Boulder City, NV to plan out the project. The customer had the perfect amount of space between their house and side yard that was undeveloped. We decided on a 30’ wide ramp and got ready to contract for the work when the family informed me that their son, the primary user of the ramp, had been diagnosed with Leukemia and the project would not be happening anytime soon.

Over a year later, I received a call from Make-a-Wish Nevada about a project. Believing it was a scam I ignored the message. They called again and I was made aware that a wish was made for a miniramp and that my company was named specifically. Plans began then to develop the project in a manner that was to be a surprise to the recovering teenager with Leukemia. We sorted out the details and installed the ramp as a precursor to a big reveal party as is custom with the Make a wish foundation. On September 15 hundreds of people were in attendance, including, friends, family, other make a wish kids, Kona Ice, and Dozens of employees from Dutch Bros. Coffee. It was amazing. The teen and family were blown away.
